WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY OBSERVATION

Kolkata, June 6, 2020 : Yesterday one of the oldest schools in Kolkata, ABC High School arranged a rally-cum-cultural programme with great enthusiasm on the auspicious occasion of the World Environment Day. At first, at 9am, students and school staffs made a rally in the nearby area of the school with festoons, banner to make all aware of nature’s importance to us. It was also attended by many dignitaries of our locality. Then a sapling plantation programme was made in the school premises by the students. About five hundred saplings were planted within and without the school campus. Then a stage programme was held by the students. It included dance, recitation, play on nature etc. Our Headmaster gave a short speech on the importance of this day and advised the students to look upon the trees as their green friends and take proper care of them. The stage programme went on for two hours. The programme had a great impact on everybody's mind. It ended at 2 pm with the speech of chief guest Sri Samir Ghosh, social worker.
