What is JEE Main?

JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination Main) is a national-level undergraduate engineering entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Scores are used for admission to:

✅ Direct Admission To:

  • • 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs)
  • • 25 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs)
  • • Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs)
  • • State government engineering colleges
  • • Private engineering colleges

✅ Eligibility For:

  • • JEE Advanced (for IIT admission)
  • • Only top 2.5 lakh JEE Main rank holders
  • • Can attempt JEE Advanced

NTA conducts JEE Main twice a year (Session 1 in January and Session 2 in April). You can appear in both sessions.

  • ✅ No penalty: Lower score in second attempt doesn't affect your first score
